Default problem with my usb devices (flash disk, printer, etc..

hi people.... thanks for reading this thread... i have a minr but very MAJOR PROBLEM... i cant seem to transfer files properly via usb, although downloading data from these devices is not a worry. the sending of the data to the devices is the big problem.... when i print (my printer is canon s200sp and connected via usb 1.1), the results seem to be very very poor, not because i set it to low. some parts of my document are missing, like paper being cut or a line in the document is not printed...... another is that when i transfer files to my flash disk, files become corrupted... there is absolutely no problem when i download files from my flash disk... this problem also happens on my second os, ubuntu, which makes me realize that the problem is in the hardware, i just dont know which hardware...

please help...
