hi, i was thinking of getting a 10k rpm raptor hard drive but i found them to be very expensive, i also found the i could get 2 320gb drives for the same price as a 150gb raptor.

first of all what is better: 2 drives in raid or a single raptor, secondly which type of raid gives better performance regardless of data loss vulnerability. please note im not inetersted in any raid config that requires more than 2 drives (e.g. raid 0+1)

You will get better access times out of a 10k Raptor than any raid array.

But a raid array is better value and you can get redundancy.

The choice is yours really.
