| Hi Folks, I've been told to reformat my 8GB FAT32 flash drive in an attempt to reduce frequent system crash. My C-drive uses NTFS, the flash drive came with FAT32. Do I reformat the flash drive with FAT32 or NTFS, and why please? |

| NTFS is better, more stable, faster access etc.

| OK, done that Dave - thanks my friend. So, why do these drives come with FAT32 pre-installed? Do they expect idiots like me to know that if they have an OS later than Win98 the drive should be re-formatted once it's out the plastic? I also have a 2GB FAT flash drive used mainly for storing old PC-based games (like Zak McKraken & the Alien Mindbenders, pinball, etc.), user manuals and the odd program (such as cCleaner, etc.) Would you reckon I should d/l to C, reformat to NTFS too, then d/l back to the flash? |
