OK, i just got a new Samsung HDD from the RMA, needless to say, it took forever to replace. now, in just less than a week, its about to die. i have disconnected it for the time being because a I need a new 500GB hard drive that wont fail. can any one recommend me one? If i have another hard drive fail me im guna flip! Im in the USA, so a store from USA would be nice.

It would be very useful if you told us if you want a IDE or SATA hard drive.

Not a fan of anything other than Western Digital to be honest, they have been the most reliable for me.

Dave i totally agree, i have a 500gb Western Digital hard drive and it aint failed me yet.

Here is an american site, where you can get an hard drive. Please post the hard drive your thinking of getting and we'll let you know if it's any good. www.newegg.com

Sorry, forgot to say SATA2. a 3GB/s interface. i go on newegg almost every day. i have read the reviews for the top rated drives in this class, and i got to say, im not all the hyped about any of them. they all have reviews (some more than other, but still a lot) of drives failing. they only one that look to have almost no bad reviews was the 750GB, but its a wee bit expensive.
