If i have another hard drive fail me im guna flip! Im in the USA, so a store from USA would be nice.

It would be very useful if you told us if you want a IDE or SATA hard drive.

Not a fan of anything other than Western Digital to be honest, they have been the most reliable for me.

Sorry, forgot to say SATA2. a 3GB/s interface. i go on newegg almost every day. i have read the reviews for the top rated drives in this class, and i got to say, im not all the hyped about any of them. they all have reviews (some more than other, but still a lot) of drives failing. they only one that look to have almost no bad reviews was the 750GB, but its a wee bit expensive.

Apart from Western Digital your main choices would be Seagate or Hitachi. I have 2 Seagate Barracuda.10 drives (320GB) and have not had problems with either except that they vibrate alot. I also have a samsung HD501 (500GB) and never had any problems with that either. The seagates I have had for almost 2 years. the samsung I've had for about 4 months. Unfortunately, no company makes perfect drives - sometimes its the luck of the draw. I think you were just unlucky, but if you look for the perfect drive you will be unlikely to find it. The newegg site reflects this as most drives have 4 stars. I suggest forget about the failure reviews for now and just try another brand out of WD, Seagate, and Hitachi and hopefully you will have better luck. Remember 1000's of people buy these drives and dont have any problems. If they were really bad then ALL the reviews would be bad.
