Default Sandisk micro U3 USB Flash Drive

Please help!

I have been using the flash drive fine for the last month (with the U3 functionality uninstalled) and now when i insert the drive i get the message the "USB drive is not recognised" and the drive does not appear in the removable storage area.

I followed some instructions (below) off another site to try and get the device to work.

Remove Hidden Devices 1. Click Start. Click Run. Type cmd and press OK.
2. Type “set DEVMGR_SHOW_DETAILS=1″ (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
3. Type “set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1″ (without quotation marks) and Press Enter.
4. Type “start devmgmt.msc” (without quotation marks) and click press Enter.
5. Click View. Click Show hidden devices.
6. Click “+” to expand Imaging devices, Unknown devices and USB devices.
7. Are there any USB devices and unknown devices (including grayed out devices)? If so, please right click it and click Uninstall.

Now the device shows when inserted but 2 devices are shown in the removable storage area. If you click them they say the drive isnt formatted.

Any ideas of how to get the files off the drive or get it working again much appreciated

Sounds like the media crashed, the only way to access it is to format it and that will wipe anything off.

You could try some data recovery software on it.
