Hello ,
I have an oldish Seagate 500gb sata hard drive with approx 200gb of info. I have given it a "MOT" and its slowly dying so i decided to buy another 500gb drive ( Western Digital ) also Sata.

Is it possible to copy its entire contents including Windows XP pro ? and use the new Hardrive as the bootable disk ? and therefore condemn the seagate to the bin ?

I've looked at Norton Ghost but im unsure if it will "clone" .

Would that copy hidden files as well, keeping the OS intact?

I did this once before and it was fine. Not sure if view hidden folders was on but if in doubt set it in the folder options. It's worth a try, dont cost nowt.
