HELP!!! again,
I have finally received my new motherboard, have put everything back together and now I am up and running. However, the new computer is running vista and i am using sata on the hdd and blu-ray player. I am wanting to hook up my ide hdd w/xp pro, from my previous computer because there is a lot of information i would like to get off of the drive. I don't want to run a dual boot. I just want to be able to use both storage devices, if possible. So, my problem is when I hook up the ide hdd, the computer will not load. It will just show microsoft corporation at the bottome with the working bar going on and on. OS will not load. I have went into the bios and set the sata as the 1st hdd boot. I also jumpered the ide hdd on cable select. I know sata does not deal with master/slave, but i thought that would halt the ide hdd and allow sata to load 1st. Can someone help me with this issue, or give me some suggestions on how to fix it. Thanks in advance, |
