Using a Spinpoint F1 1Tb in my new PC and for the hour or so I used it before I had to strip it and send back faulty parts it was as quiet as can be.

Doesn't seem to be any problems..

I, too, have heard the Barracuda .11 and .12 series are supposed to be ruddy good drives.. Maybe you got one from a bad batch or was damaged in transit or something..

(My issue is why they say 1000Gb is 1Tb, where's my other 24Gb?? Gits, I lose enough with formatting into the filing structure anyway.)

First off - Bugger, I'm pretty sure mines a .10

Second - Yeah, trouble is it's worse than that.. out of 1TB I got 931GB.. because I think it starts off with them saying 1000bytes is a KB 1000KB is a MB, 1000MB is a GB, and finally 1000GB is a TB, resulting in.. well.. not a TB!!

Resulting in me being several gig down on space I need to store pointless drivel! GOD!
