Default U3 smart technology

Recently got a SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8GB which has the U3 technology. It is pretty cool compared to a normal flash drive but I am wondering if anyone uses the U3 and if it is worth keeping on the drive or not. Is it really useful or just taking up space?

Also when I launched the drive it asked if I wanted to use the U3 and I accepted it. Am I now stuck with it or can it be removed?

I have a 2GB one with it.

I have never taken the time to find out what it actually is and it just annoys the crap out of me every time it opens. I have to wait like 5 minutes until I can use the drive.

I think you can download programs to run on it etc.

I really must just format it I think.

It never opens U3 when I use it on a Vista OS for some reason.

I will probably remove it. I at first thought the launch pad was very cool but then applied my reasoning of cool + computers doesn't always = good.

Found this http://www.u3.com/uninstall/

And as always http://portableapps.com/ let's anyone build any drive from scratch.

U3 is handy because you can install Anti-virus on USB and you can plug in PC with no Anti-virus, My college sometimes has no anti-virus so U3 for me
