I have an external HDD which has been working fine with no problems until earlier today when I received this message:
USB Device Not Recognized I assumed that my HDD was at fault until I tried my memory stick and received the same message so it would appear that my USB ports are playing up? I have tried the memory stick and the HDD in two different USB ports and still receive the same error message - help! |

Try this method, sometimes your USB ports go to sleep and forget to wake up again, M$ supposedly fixed this with SP1 but didn't do a very good job

Thanks for the help, but no joy. Tried doing as you suggested but still get the error message on both ports with both devices
