Default USB Hard Drive Problem

Hi there,

I have a Freecom ToughDrive 250GB, had it for about 3/4 months now and its been top but these last few days it seems to have buggered up a bit. When I try to play any of my music off it it either takes 1/2 minutes to play the song and when it does I can't stop it etc, or it won't play at all and usually results in Windows Media Player 'not responding' and having to kill it. Then when I try and access it from clicking 'My Computer', I click on it and it'll either let me see all the files, then when I try and click another file it freezes up or Windows Explorer and that ends up 'not responding' also. It also won't let me copy/backup anything from the drive. The drive is nowhere near full.

I'm running on Windows Vista Home Premium and my system specs:

Dell Inspiron I1721
AMD Turion 64X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00GHz
1918 MB

Any ideas appreciated :)

Thanks
