| Hi guys, I been searching around the net for an hour now. And still completely stuff'ed on what to do.Anyway, just bought me self one of those WD My Book's. There was a quick installation guide that came with it. It basically showed that once you plug it in, there would be a WD setup icon on MyComp where you can click on it and installed the software. So, I plugged it in on 3 diff comp (Win XP & Vista), all could detect the HD and installed the drivers BUT no new driver/icon could be found on MyComp. Then, what i did was installed, formatted and partitioned the HD on WinVista, poof! working and running on Vista. However, once i plug in the HD to a diff comp (Win XP) ntg came up. Couldn't find my new drive anywhere on MyComp. But if i go to Disk Mangement, i can see the Drive there. I thought of deleting it and reinstalling it on XP as well, But the 'Delete Volume' button was greyed out. Plugged the HD back to my Vista comp, again working here, and deleted the volume here. Brought it back to my XP one, now in Disk Manggement, everything is still greyed out ( so can install and format) and it says under status GPT Protective Partition. Now, im a complete novice with stuff like this and really stumped on what to do. Any help what so ever will be much appreciated. Oh also, when i formated the drive i selected NTFS |
