I just got another PC and i've got it running in good shape, besides the fact that my HD is almost empty for an unknown reason. It is a 19gb drive and I currently have 4.97gb remaining. I have thoroughly cleaned this PC, ran CCleaner, Defrag, Scandisk, AdAware and gone through Add&Remove as well. I've cleaned up the old music on the drive and still can't find what's bogging me down. I even ran HiJackthis just to be sure and came up with nothing. Add&Remove is filled with lots of XP Hotfixes and Security updates but other than that there are no pronounced files that should be taking up this much space and i'm also aware that the OS takes up space..but not this much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A 20GB drive is very small in todays standards, it won't hold much.

Yeah, I know, but that isn't really valid. Regardless of how much it holds, that doesn't explain why I don't have memory that should be there.

There is no partition on this drive and I know memory and hard drives are two different things.

If by that you mean hard drives hold the memory or that a hard drive is seperate from RAM which isn't what I said. No shit they are different.

Are you using the right click > properties on your local C drive to determine the available disk space?

As in some systems this can come up with an incorrect value, and has a simple solution ... which has escaped me at this moment in time, but I will find out for you.
