http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826502011

is this pair good or bad? i did a little research and this video cleared some things up for me. at first i was guna get Triton, but then i saw this

If you decide to try an xFi soundcard (see other thread lol) then why not try these as well?

I don't use headphones (too paranoid lol) but I've heard that they make good ones and I'll bet they work with their own cards quite well.

Whether they are or not it's all much of a muchness..

You'll notice little difference between a good set of stereo headphones and "5.1"'s..

If they're that close to your ear, and I presume still only using one speaker per ear, then it's not really true 5.1 sound, and if you buy some good stereo 'phones, stick on a dynamic settnig if you wish, they will be just as good, or quite possibly better.

I'd stay away from Turtle Beach too.. I've heard "Good for the first few weeks" all too many times..

Ok, that's a bit better.

At least you'll see some benefit from the speakers not handling such a wide range of frequency.

However it still remains that it is not surround sound.

The key thing I think you'd notice would be dialogue in TV/Films. In a 5/7.1 surround setup the center speaker (which is the one that handles the dialogue) is placed above the screen, so it sounds as if it is actually coming from the person who is talking (unless they're not on screen, when it would be sent to the appropriate surround speaker)

But you'll have it right in your ear.. so it will sound a bit like the person talking is on your left (or right, depending on which ear has the center and which has the subwoofer)

But stereo headphones are just the same as that anyway, so I suppose you may as well get them.

Just bear in mind that while it is 5.1, it is not surround sound.. I would be interested to know whether Dolby support it or not..
