Hi thanks for looking,

so since i bought this rig and installed xp sp2 on it. i have never been able to get the onbaord sound working. it was never a problem since i bought an SB audigy which works great. But now im getting in to DJing and require the onboard sound to work for mixing tracks (need dual output). so ive tryed uninstalling the drivers/device updating with the newest driver from the realtek site (onboard is a realtek ac97) it says the device is working great but no sounds come from everything. i even checked the bios to make sure it was on, sure enough it is. any help would be great.

Silly question perhaps, but .... you have put the speaker plug in the correct socket for on-board.

I have exactly the same problem, the only sound that I'm able to hear is something like a beep when I do the connector check with the RealTek Sound Manager.
Somebody have found a way to solve this problem?

(Sorry for my school english)

The problem is that there are jumpers that need to be installed if you don't connect the front panel audio jacks. Look on page 2-31 of the manual and you will see the 2 blue jumpers that have to be installed across the oins. This drove me nuts for 3 hours before I finally figured it out!
