| Hi guys At the moment I have my sub woofer for my new Logitech x230 on the desk but would prefer to have it on top of my tower underneath the desk, some people say this is better as you get better bass, others say its better to keep it on top. Either way I would only be doing it to save space. Also would the vibration from the sub damage any components (especially important when my computer arrives!) |

| I wouldn't put it on top of the tower. I thought that sub woofers were normally put at near ground level or on a low shelf? At least thats where ours is.

as most pc speakers with a subwoofer theses days for pc's are ported its unconvenient to have it behind you.so next best thing is to have it low level and not infront of you.mine is under the desk ner the front i wouldent recomend on top of your tower as the vibrations could damage components if not i'm sure ull here the vibrations from your tower :) hope this helps My System: www.myPCbuild.piczo.com

| Jack06 Sub-woofers / Base drivers will work better low down in a room, preferably on a very low shelf or a very low stand / base say 5 - 10cm high as carpet and such tend to soak up sound waves and have a damper effect, i use a 7 speaker system on my gamer the base driver is on a solid 5cm high stand facing me central ![]() |

| On this topic. I have the Logitech X-540 and the sub has it's speaker at the bottom and some say that it is best to place it on the floor so that I would like sound in the entire room due to vibration of air particles. The place where the PC is is very cold in Winter and thus I think that it would cause damage due to humidity. Will on the desk be ok or not?? |

| the best place i have found for a sub, is low down and the port about 5-6inches from a solid surface, the bass bounces back off and sounds sweet :) |

| Actually there is no such thing as a "best place to put a sub" the frequency range is so low that a human ear cannot tell the direction it is coming from, the only reasonable argument is that it might shake shelves, or even fall off, so on the ground might be a safer idea, but as for all this behind you nonsense it really doesn't make a difference at all.

You tend to 'feel' bass rather than hear it. Unless something is annoyingly vibrating close to the sub. My System: =/
