Default Bummer with Mp3 Player

Hey I bought a 2 Gb sanDisk Sansa Mp3 player at the beginning of the summer I don't even think its completely full yet but now whenever I plug it into my computer my computer makes the little ding to show something's connected but no bubble pops up telling me its connected and theres no directory in my computer. the Mp3 player charges itself and goes to the connected to PC screen but nothing comes up on my computer....any ideas?

Try flashing its firmware to the latest version and see if that cures the problem. The tools are on sandisk's site. My daughter and her boyfriend have one and have no problems.

Can you try:

http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

Run that installer and then run the program it creates.

NO offence, but have you turned the player on while it is connected? I know with my iRiver U10 it makes the ding and charges if it is switched off. To get it to come up in My Computer, it has to be turned on.

Default Bummer with Mp3 Player

Go into Device Manager

(My Computer>System properties>Device Manager)

It most likely will appear with a warning sign next to it? Post back yes or no.
