Hi,

I own a HP Pavilion dv6128eu laptop. Recently I've begun having problems with audio. No matter what I insert into the two audio-out ports, it continues playing through the built-in laptop speakers, and no sound comes out through the external speakers, connected to the audio-ports. At first I thought something was fried, since it didn't seem to detect the plugged in speakers, but when I booted Linux it worked fine, no problems. Fine, I thought, so I re-installed Windows with the exact same drivers and methods I've always done, and the problem persists.

Does anyone have experience with this, or something similar? I've googled everything to no avail. HP support hasn't helped me either. Isn't there some way to at least -force- audio output to be sent through the external speakers, so to speak? It seems to me that toggle seems to be done manually, somehow, instead of automatically (which is failing).
