ive got a tannoy ts12 and i was listening to music quite loud my sub settings were cranked all the way up eg gain knob was max and the xover freq was half way, and all of sudden my sub stopped working and it was the fuse in the sub that went and after that it was OK(ive learnt my lesson not to have it too loud in future) but im wondering why should it have stopped i thought it could handle massive bass thats why i got it

maybe power is too strong that it breaks both the protection system and the fuse. or over-overheated..

so does that mean my protection system is no more?

maybe..if the circuit is lined up so that the protection system is the first option to prevent surge and then only the fuse as the second option.
