Kam BDX900 USB Turntables

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the USB turntables that are available. Do they do what it says on the tin? I notice the Kam direct drive one seems the bizz.

I DJ, a lot, play in clubs and stuff.

Kam make some truly atrocious decks.

With decks you really get what you pay for.

Cheap brands such as KAM mean you will be busy dealing with quality issues which actually make mixing a lot harder and longer to learn if you are new to it.

I only mix on Vestax and many swear by Technics, both are excellent.

The odd Stanton and Numark deck are ok too and a bit cheaper.

Direct Drive is a must.

Thanks for your reply Dave. The main use for the deck would be to transfer vinyl to hard drive.

Hi!
I got a Kam BDX900 turntable as a Chrissie present to get all my soul and reggae 45s onto CD. Thing is, the instructions may as well be in monkey. I thought I'd just have to rev her up and plug her in but I need to download "Audacity" and then change settings on my Mac and then I still can make anything happen. Can any one help? In laymans terms?

I'd really apprecuiate it. Thanks!

I was tempted a while back, when one came along at a bargain price.

I emailed the supplier and enquired about replacement stylus and they didn't have a clue.
I've since learnt that it is hard to source a replaxements for most of them, so unless you determine this in advance or you are prepared to bin it, once the stylus is worn, they aint a great buy IMO.
