Hi,

I've been looking for a fast, easy and effcient way to transfer music to Cd's.

Dak takes about 20 minutes per side but seems to do most everything for you. Yet it might distort sound when getting rid of hiss, pops and so forth.

There are turntables put out by Insignia that put it on your hard drive.

I already have a Sony turntable but no preamp.

It looks like a software will be required no matter what is used like Nero or Audacity.

Thanks for your suggestions. Bob

You should be able to plug the turntable into you sound card line in with no pre amp using the right lead then using some free software like Jet audio record the music in real time to you hard drive.

After that burn to CD using Nero or similar.

This tutorial may be of some help

There is no way you can speed things up, as the time is dictated by the play time of the original album.

Phil is absolutely right, the turntable is a bottleneck, but are you asking for a quick way after the file has been transferred to the HDD or a direct turntable to CD recording process?

I just read where somebody got it done in about 6 minutes but stated later on it didn't work. Guess you can only play a record just so fast.

I've already read the Dak tutorial and of course, they aren't going to talk about others products.

I'm thinking that their equipment including the TT, would be the same thing as going out and getting and getting a TT that does it all but doesn't have a mixer preamp to fool with.

Since I have a turntable it would be cheaper to go the Dak route. Just guessing.
