Hi,
My microphone is experiencing difficulties. It is plugged in, but when I do the test in wound properties, the meter doesn't jump up and down, but when I talk into it, I can hear my voice coming out of the speakers. When I try the microphone test in Steam, the meter still doesn't jump. But, for some reason, Adobe Soundbooth can detect it, and I can record stuff with it. So.... anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in Advance.

It definatly set to be monitoring that particular device? Or maybe monitoring a different port.

I only have one microphone port so I think it should be monitoring the right one.

Does the mic function as normal? is the meter all that important?

Well there has to be some problem, because the meter tests whether the microphone is working or not. But it works in Adobe and not in Windows or Steam. No, it is not important if the microphone is working, but I'm not sure if it's going to work in Steam, because that's were I use it most.

I've never used Steam, so I don't know it's layout, but is there a microphone options somewhere? (There's 95% chance there will be - I just don't know where)
If you can find it then there will probably be a drop down box to select your input device, mak sure this is on the microphone device you wish to use.

Yes, there is, and it is selected to the right input device. There's also a detect audio devices, which I also clicked. But when I test microphone in Steam and Windows, the meter never moves...
