hello

i currently have 2 speakers with a sub connected through my headphone jack on the front of my pc, but on the back i have 4 speaker jacks: 1 center/subwoofer, 1 rear speaker, 1 front speaker and 1 side speaker.

im confused as to what my options are, i want to get the best sound i can out of my computer. i've been looking at some stuff online but i can't figure out what would work with my pc.

is there basically one speaker per whole? i dont understand what the center speaker/subwoofer jack is for (1 or both?) and also it seams weird that it only has 1 side speaker jack.... please help!!!

Does anything in the user manual help? The ability to configure as 2/4/6/8 channel and to plug any speaker into any socket and tell the driver exactly what it is makes it difficult to talk you through a specific setup.

You might check you're using their driver, that would help.

It's for surround sound - 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, or 7.1 I have the same.

All of them are stereo jacks so:

The front stereo is your front left and and right thats the most basic set up (2.0)

Then you could add in your sub (2.1) NOTE: Yes it's only one jack for both because their both mono speakers, the center speaker is for dialouge, when you watch a film and they talk, it comes out of there. and the subwoofer produces the low rumbles. So for simplicity they're combined into one stereo jack. I think Center is the left channel and the sub is on the Right channel - if I remember right.

Then, for 5.1 (this is where it becomes surround sound) you add in your center and rear speakers, the rear speakers are stereo as well, just like the front, except they play the sounds that happen "behind you"

For 7.1, the Side stereo speakers are introduced. It's not strange theres only one, because its a stereo jack, so it actually has two channels, one for left one for right.

This is the ultimate setup for watching a film (well.. actually it's not, to be really picky, I wouldn't be using a PC and I'd be using an AV Amplifier...) But its certainly very good sound.

If you do all that make sure you watch Apocalypse Now. The "Charlie Don't Surf" scene is fantastic, it sounds just like the helicopters are flying around you... god I love that film.
