hey is anyone there to help me out.
when i reinstall xp service pack 3 my computer stop detecting sound card. i tryed installing drivers that come along with mother board cd. my board is intel D945GCPE. I tyred again n again but fail. so please help me out.

Have you tried drivers from the manufacturers website?

Apolutrosi, check your BIOS settings, have you 'Onboard Audio' enabled?

Without a Sound Card it will be default enabled.

I presume OP has no Sound Cad, or (s)he wouldn't want drivers for the onboard chip.

Well, if (s)he's got 'enabled' in BIOS, and no driver, winXP should detect this card as 'Unknown device', shouldn't?

Probably, yes, but we don't know that it's not.

If you go into Device Manager (Right Click My Computer > Manage > Device Manager) can you see is under Sound, Video, and Game Controllers?
