Two days ago I purchased a new computer. The computer seems to be working fine, but I have no sound. I didn't hook up the new speakers, instead opting to use the old ones with the subwoofer because they worked good on my old computer.
I have Windows Vista and Realtek HD for my audio device. It says it's working properly and the speakers turn on and seem to be working fine only no sound comes out of them. I had this same problem on my old computer a year ago when I upgraded from Windows ME to XP. Everyone kept telling me to update my driver. It didn't work. Infact, I figured it out myself. I don't remember exactly what it was, but I went into control panel and sound and something wasn't checked that should have been. So naturally, I tried that first thing on this computer, but I couldn't find it. Not to familiar with Vista, but I do know that there shouldn't be anything wrong with my sound card considering this computer is brand new. Can anyone help me with this? |

Try Control Panel then Sounds then Advanced. Make sure nothing is muted or turned right down.
If you are lucky you may have a speaker in your system tray which is easier. |

Yeah I already tried that. Nothings muted and my speakers are connected correctly. I know they work cause I just used them on my old computer three days ago.
