Hello Lynne

To resolve this problem, you will have to install the drivers for the sound card. Windows does and does not always install these automatically, depending on the make/model of the sound card itself.

There is two ways you could approach this problem. If your copy of Windows XP is legit (not illegal), then you can run Windows Update which should auto detect your sound card. When it comes up, click on Custom not Express. It will search for drivers then click on Hardware on the left hand side.

If Win Update does not find it, then look on your sound card for the make and model. Then go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers from there.

If you need more help, don't hesitate to come back to me.

The sound is realtek nVidia is the graphics. Also try going to Control Panel then Sounds and Audio Devices, then make sure the volume "lever" is on high if still no sound go to Advanced just under-neath the "lever" and make sure all the "leavers" are up all the way.

have you put the speaker wire in the green circle connector with the headphones above em? bit like this one:

there usually just a pink one and a green one put the connector in the green one.either at the front or back of the pc
