Unhappy No sound, period

this is unusual. A couple of weeks ago my computer made a roaring sound and as I tried to stop it, nothing would work. No mute, no volume control. After that, no sound, period.
Before we start listing the usual fixes, they have already been tried. Even a new sound card. I would not be here if it were that simple. This has my few hairs afraid of being yanked out. I am at a loss. Never seen this problem before. You will have to reach for this one. Any help, no matter how wild, will be considered. Thanks for any suggestions, folks.

Hello Chubbs

Welcome to TCF

Was the roaring sound like a lion or more like a cheetah perhaps? :D

Can you please list your usual fixes and we can compare them to our usual fixes.
Did/have you seen any error messages?
Have you made any large system changes?

More info please my good fellow.

It was more like the roar of a jet engine. at first, it started as a low roar, I thought it may have been an E-3. They fly over here all the time. But this kept getting louder and it was found to be coming from the computer. At the time, no one was using it. we tried rebooting, replacing speakers with a known working pair and tried the pair that were hooked up at the time on another system. They were new to start with. We went through all the drivers, changed sound cards, even the internal sound card does not seem to be working.
It was looked at by a tech from the Citizen Potowatomie Nation, he is good at what he does, and it has even stumped him. He cannot figure where to go from here.
All diagnosis and troubleshooting says the system is working fine. There were no error messages. It is the darnedest thing you ever saw. I have had other techs tell me that this problem cannot exist. But none of them have fixed yet.

If the onboard sound is not working then to me you really need to, if you want to keep the board, is have it electronically checked by an mechanic.
