Dave torrents are not illegal it's the downloading of copyright matter that is illegal unless you have paid for it. The same as copying a mates CD and using the copy yourself that's illegal.If you copy a CD/DVD you have purchased for back up and use it perfectly legal under British law.

Also 99.9% of torrent and P2P users use it for copyrighted material. Period.

the .torrent isn't illegal, it's using it to get the files from other users, hence places like the one located in Sweeden can't get nailed for hosting the torrent because they don't have the actual files on their server. Either way I'd suggest ripping CDs you already own to load them onto your mp3 player :)
