| Is it possible to convert a MIDI file to a WAV file using the sounds from Window's built in MIDI device? In other words, I created a MIDI file from a music notation program (sibelius), but want to export it as a WAV file to a Multitrack recorder, so that I can record a live instrument on top of it. (I would just do this in a MIDI capable software sequencer, but I don't have one yet, and need to make this recording by the end of the week). Sibelius has an "export as audio" function, but since the MIDI device built into windows is run through windows media player, this does not work. If not, I can just run a stereo connection from my soundcard to the multi track recorder, but I would prefer to export it as WAV (if its possible) because then I have maximum mixing control on the MTR. |

| Nevermind. I figured it out. iTunes has a "convert to mp3" function, so I just opened the MIDI file there instead of in Windows media player, and converted it to an mp3, then burned it to an audio CD (therefore converting it to .wav) Sorry for a pointless thread. Should've tried iTunes before i posted. -Ulfrinn |
