| I tried installing the chipset driver and everything went well until the end where it says to reboot and when I did so, the system gave me the "windows recovered from a serious system error" prompt once again. Maybe I need to install the drivers from safe mode? or uninstall the "not working" sound drivers from safe mode? |

| You shouldn't need Safe Mode, providing you are logged in with Administrator rights, the installation of drivers should be simple.

| yes it is, I still have the install cd and a sticker with the serial no is on the PC case.. but I seriously don't recall having to type in the serial no. when installing... kind of weird.. |
