Sound not working!!

My sound has simply stopped playing, i have fiddled around with my sound stuff to no avail, and all i can think of it being is drivers or something like that, and all i know of my speakers is that my computer calls them "high definition audio device" help please??

What can you see on the sound controls? Have you plugged headphones in instead?

checked they are plugged in properly?

stupid but very common error

i would help but every time i try fix something you hold down the power off button!
maybe if you were running your own copy of vista it would work :P
