You might try reinstalling directx too!

Start, the Run... and type msconfig or sfc /scannow.

WinPatrol is a downloadable program that tells you what your startup looks like.

I would concentrate on directx though. See if dxdiag produces anything. DirectX is at

Default Sound problem

Tried dxdiag - no problems and everything working properly. Installed DirectX from this link you sent me - still no sound (and there is sound while listening on headphones)

You could try re-installing the sound card drivers for you laptop, see if that reverts it back to it's original state

Have you been into the BIOS to see if onboard sound has been disabled?

Eeverything enabled except Media Card and 1394. Also i couldn't find sound card there at all at onboard devices
