Default Sound system layout

Is anyone in here clued up on sound systems?

I currently own a Logitech 5.1 surround sound system:

At the minute everything is down one end of the room, but i want to swap everything around so that i get the best sound possible. Im currently living at home so only have my room in which to do this. My room is essentially a 10.5ft x 8ft square, plus my entrance.

I listen to trance/dance/hard house pretty much all the time, so want the best possibly layout for getting the best sound possible.

Cheers if anyone can help.

Cool, I DJ hard trance and techno for some big nights down here....

Anyway...

You basically want to setup the speakers in their ideal positions.

I have my LCD TV in the middle of the wall, then have left and right either side.

My seating is directly opposite the TV on the opposite wall with rear left and right either side.

Center speaker sits under the TV and the sub can go anywhere as you feel bass not hear it.

You basically want to be sitting in the middle of all the speakers with the TV directly in-front.

Very much like a Cinema.

Dave.

Damn my small(ish) room! Problem is that my surround is all plugged into my laptop, so i need someone of positioning my laptop in the middle of the room.

At the minute i have the central speaker just above my head in front of me, the right and left ones either side and the rear ones behind me, so its good in that sense, but its all down one end of the room as opposed to in the middle. The problem being that its very bassy near my door, and hardly any bass where i sit

It isn't easy, with the design of most rooms its never practical to have it setup as it was meant to be.

Just try to get it as close as you can.

One day, when I'm loaded...LOL... I want a purpose build sound room, everything setup as intended.

What would you rate that speaker system at, out of ten? I am needing an very high quality and loud sound system that will work with my computer.

I am planning on using my computer as my music player, I will also like to know if you can link them up to your computer and TV.
