hey guys, I have a 2006 Dell E310. I have speakers because I use chat and google talk to talk to friends online for free and I used an old microphone that had a green and pink plug in. now since the mic doesn't work, I bought a logitech one and it had the new wires Where you plug in the back of the computer where the mouse and keyboard go, It seemed working fine until I installed a webcam which has a built in mic already. then soon later, I found out I couldn't hear anything on the internet, only online games and media player & windows movie maker. everything else, I can't hear, what should I do? at first I thought it was a speaker problem but I changed it and it still didn't work. What should I do?

sounds to me like it's a problem with your chat program. there should be some sound settings in the program. you have to change the input to your new mic, and the output to your speakers. otherwise of COURSE you won't hear anything from it.

hence why the rest of the sound works. that means it isn't a driver problem, or a speaker problem or anything like that.

so double check your sound settings and make sure it's all set up correctly.

i've had similar issues using Skype.
