Default Sound and Video related?

I just installed a Radeon HD 2600 XT video card (I previously had an intigrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200). The video card worked great but the sound stoped working. My mom and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days now. I reformated the computer and when that was done the sound worked so i installed the new video card again and the sound doesn't work again. Any suggestions?

what sound card/onboard you got?

try installing the drivers for it after you installed the card perhaps
