| Hi everyone, Im quite unsure as what to do.... Im wanting to attach my laptop to my stereo....I have an 3.5mm to RCA cable, but my problem is that I can plug one end into my laptop headphone jack, my stereo is pretty new but for some reason it doesnt have many outputs....it has an headphone output and an fm antenna output and the stereo speakers are attached with barewires?? There isnt a microphone output so Im not sure what to do?! Can anyone help me or guide me to how I can attach my stereo to my laptop? Many thanks xxx |

| You need to plug the the lead from the laptop into an input on the stereo not an output.

The sound is traveling OUT through the headphone jack on the laptop and IN to the Hi-Fi. Look on the back for the RCA type connectors labeled something like AUX or CD will do. Then select the corresponding option (AUX or CD) on the front of the Hi-Fi. If your Hi-Fi is so basic or old that it has no inputs your pretty stuffed. My System: Hybr!d
