Ok im on holiday in florida atm with my dell inspiron 9300, 4 years old and the problem is it goes slow whenever music is played from any media player useing the speakers! and they are loud, my soundcard is a Sigmatel, Yet when music is played through the headphone jack the system runs fine! but when played through speakers the system lags? any help????

There is no way running through the speakers vs headphones will have any different impact on the PC speed.

i know that,, what im saying is the laptop just goes slow when music is outputted through the main speakers and i have no idea y? its very confusing

maybe but not definatly its something to do with software controlling this, and for some reason takes up extra process's to allow the output out of the speakers, probably not right.

is it the same on AC and DC and is it whenever the music is playing loud or does it still happen when its quiet

+ has it always done that?

No only just recently started doing it, when i get back to the uk ill do a clean install of windows and see then :) and then let you know :D

But its Very strange, and the cpu is 1.7ghz 2gb ram and its running of the mains.. and i have tried remove the battery and leaving it just on the mains and it makes know difference :S

I might need a new mobo :( which will set me back a good £100

humm thats all my theroys out the window lol, what happens when playing music with headphones in then taking them out and still doing the same thing?

Whether you play via the headphones or speakers you use exacly the same software, hardware and drivers.
