Today, I have switched to Vista ultimate edition. But I have one problem.
I have installed all the drivers that usually comes with Mobo cd. Still, I am not able to get the sound.
My speakers are fine and no problem with them. Can you tell me the solution. If you need extra information then tell me I will try to give you

install the newest drivers from the manufacturers website

the drivers on the mobo cd may be very out dated and not vista compatible

I don't think so. I have bought my system on jan 2nd this year. I am sure the drivers are vista compatible.

The first thing to try is new drivers, as mrdavey suggested.

Do this first, as the motherboard may be an old model or have been shipped with an old CD.

What mobo have you got ?

new drivers are released all the time so unless you've checked on the web for newer drivers they could be out dated

If your mother board is the Intel® Desktop Board DG965RY, a new Audio Driver was released on the 10th Oct 2007 (vers. 5548v13), which you can download here assuming you are running 32bit Vista and not 64bit.

Iit's pretty unlikely that you would have received this with your new machine, as mobo manufacturers normally produce drivers, before production, which for this mobo was early 2007 I believe.

It may be a good idea to uninstall the old driver, before installing the new one.

If you have (vers. 5548v13) installed let us know.

I have installed new drivers but still no help. I am not able to find the fault.
I have tried following steps:
1) downloaded the audio drivers from here
2) I have tried to refresh the audio drivers by Control Panel/device manager/system then refresh/look for changes

Result: I am not getting sound at startup ( vista default sound at startup) , but whenever I try to play any mp3 or movie then that sound get lots.

What should I do now
