I moved my computer the other day and plugged everything back in and now when i try and talk through my mic my voice inst transmitted but what ever sound i.e. music is playing on the computer will be transmitted through what ever voip program i am using at the time. Ive tried plugging my microphone into every slot on my motherboard just to make sure but it always does the same thing or it doesn't work.

Did you try making sure that your sound card is still seated securely on the motherboard? Sounds like a weird connection somewhere.

Go to the sound icon in the corner of your taskbar. Right click it and select Open Volume Control. At the top of the window, click Options, then Properties. Select the input device in Mixer Device. In the box at the bottom, make sure the box with Stereo Mix is ticked. Press OK. Find the Stereo Mix column. Press mute. That should do the trick. Hope it helps.
