Hiya,

I bought my Zen about 18 months ago and I've had a slight problem a while back, but a reset sort that out. I've moved a couple of times in a last couple of months and hadn't charged my Zen up when the battery died. I recharged it via my laptop a couple of days ago and along it plays ok, I have a big black spot on the middle of the screen.

I was just wondering what might the cause and whether its fixable or whether I'd just have to buy a new player.

Many thanks

hmm. i own a ZVM as well (great player).

and it sounds to me like the LCD has been damaged, have you dropped it at all? or as you were moving was it in a box with heavy or sharp items?

you can probably pick up a replacement screen it and put that in yourself

pretty easy to take apart.

however let me know if you are going to replace it, i'd be happy to take it off your hands

Thanks for the link, however I have been unable to find a replacement screen. Any ideas where I might be able to get hold of one?

ummm..
send creative an e-mail and they might send one out to you or if your lucky fit it for you as well.
they should still sell them as spares ans the player went off the market in early to mid 2008 (in Austalia anyway) and over here you could get warranty for up to 3 years, so they should stock parts until at least 2010 or 2011. if creative dont stock it then i would try ebay.

Well I've tried ebay and the only place I could get one was from the US which would cost me £60 so I think I'll just get rid and buy a new player. But thanks very much for the help.
