Manufacturers websites should tell you battery life. As for the camera, I'd imagine the 8MP is a whole lot better quality than the 2MP. Normally you can find reviews online with example shots so you can see the quality.

Life has taught me to stay away from Apple products. Especially ones that are called phone, but barely are.

Well all cameras on phones are bad, If I was you, I would ignore the camera, and choose depending on the other features, and if you need a camera, get a camera. However that might just be me being picky because i do a bit of photography as a hobby, and thus have a digital SLR, so I rearly notice the quality difference.

Batteries degrade over time, and loose their ability to hold the charge, if all you are bothered about with your phone, just buy a new battery for it, it would be cheaper than a new phone.

The camera on the Nokia N96 is awesome.

I can't tell the difference between it and my dedicated camera I bought last year. Not SLR though.

I'd have to disagree, some phones have excellent cameras. But it is a bit hit and miss and megapixels does not equal a good camera.

Yea, I guess that's more what I was getting at, and you don't know if it's good until you see a specific photo review for it, which I haven't seen any of for any camera, but I haven't looked that hard for them.
