Default Acer Aspire 3050 Laptop Freezing - Tried Almost Everything!

I have Acer Aspire 3050 laptop with the following hardware:

CPU AMD Sempron 3400+ 1800MHz
RAM 2 Gb (32M-128M for video adapter)
HDD 40 Gb Hitachi HTS541660J9AT00
VIdeo Adapter Ati Radeon Xpress
Display 15 in
LAN adapter
Wireless adapter - built in Broadcom BCM94318MPG
Windows XP SP3 with all upgrades

It has power supply soldered directly to the motherboard with cable glued to the modem slot since internal socket broke.
Display has been replaced 1 year ago and keyboard has been replaced two months ago.

About two weeks it started to freeze while switched on and producing continuous beep.I tried replacing memory , harddrive, running on batteries and mains, reset BIOS to default, reinstalled Windows with the same result so I have no choice but to sell it.I wanted to find out on this forum if something can be done before I sell it on Ebay for spares.

Other problem is that sometimes when I switch it on , harddrive light comes on and I can hear it spinning up but monitor stays blank.I have to hold power button for up to half a minute and then and usually it starts up after it.
As I said it can become unresponsive at times and creates continues beep ( it sounds like it consists of series of very short beeps). It would go away after minute or so.Now I switch off sound when I don't need it so I don't hear beep when computer becomes slow.
If I press with my fingers on below keyboard and right of the touchpad, freezing goes away
I also noticed that if I it freezes during start up I can get it back to life pressing power button. How weird is this?
System clock is totally wrong even it is set to the correct zone and set to sync with time.windows.com

I did open laptop several times to replace keyboard and remove broken power socket, I wonder if something got snapped that causes this strange behaviour

Thank you very much in advance,
As you see it did not freeze during the time I wrote all this :)

Holding the power button in for a long time can be a reset CMOS trigger, I would try checking memory voltages.

Use the BIOS if you can get into it.

Just had a look in the BIOS
It is extremely rudimentary - there are literally ten options you can change ther and no voltages or any other valuable numbers to see..

If the time thing is incorrect I would replace the CMOS battery and see if that fixes anything else.

Thank you

Are BIOS batteries universal or I need to get a specific one?
