I'm looking for a laptop that can run games (Such as Call of Duty etc..) as smoothly as possible and I have no idea which one to buy

I'm really not too fussed about the screen size. The maximum that I'm willing to spend is £550, (guessing, thats around $900)

Does anyone have any advice on which laptop i could buy?

This is usually not only a bad idea for actually having a usable laptop, it is probably going to be cost prohibitive.given that budget (although I don't know UK prices well).

Buy a netbook/desktop/both.

I wouldn't go for that one, myself. Battery life is sure to be pretty bad in comparison to the alternatives.

Maybe it would help if you said what you're looking for primarily - you might indeed be okay with a very low-end laptop that can do some basic gaming, but in most cases I think people overestimate their usage requirements and end up spending a budget like yours on a "laptop" they're going to use for very laptop-like usages and while the thing runs Call of Duty 4 at 20FPS on low, they get really bad battery life.

So are you planning to do anything else with the laptop? Do you want good battery life? Better multitasking? Do you plan to watch YouTube or other flash video websites (there's got to be a UK version of Hulu) on this system? The HD version of youtube and/or high-resolution video? Is being light a priority? Screen size?

I would only really use my laptop for my games and coursework, as I am still studying.

The lightness and battery life isn't really an issue for me because I don't really take my laptop around to other places, so most of the time I would just plug it in. I would consider buying a desktop, but i really don't have enough space for one.

Occasionally I would go onto YouTube and video websites, but they wouldn't really be important. High resolution video's arent a priority, neither is the screen size, but a bigger screen would be better.

Are you absolutely sure about the desktop point? A lot of people overestimate how big of case they need. Sure you couldn't fit something like this around?

I say this because if you weren't going to use the portability much at all, £550 can definitely buy you an excellent budget-midrange desktop PC that can run any game you want at 60fps.

If you are set on a portable machine, either the one you linked or the HP Mini 311 are probably the way to go.
