I found this nice Gameing laptop that has gotten some epic reviews, but i need to know whats best to get on the inside.

I would like to pay less than 1600, what would be the best options to get in this computer

There is no such thing as a "gaming laptop", only a "underpowered, overpriced gaming desktop with a integrated screen which causes third-degree burns".

Agreed, if you want to play games seriously, get a desktop.

not helping.
Iam a gamer, but not to the point of tears and blood. you could say Im a moderately casual gamer. bud did you even look at this thing? look at it, and tell me that is not what i want.

I would get a desktop, if i didnt like:
1) sitting in bed with my computer
2) taking it to friends houses
3) holding rave parties involving my laptop at events and
4) taking if from my dads to my moms house every week.

I suppose you could fix up a desk-top to work out number 1, but i have a feeling that the others will be kinda left out.

With that in mind - have you looked at pre-built "desktops" designed for LAN partys?

They're supposedly a lot more portable.

If you really want a laptop that's fine, I understand and I'm not trying to convince you not to or anything, just saying look at the options. And I would help wth the laptop thing - but I'm not huge on the gaming scene.. and haven't used a laptop for a while either!

So you're going to pay $1600 to buy a mobile PC with the equivalent performance of a >$500 desktop (the "GTX 260m" is actually a 8800GT) because you can't buy a netbook for #1 and #3 and build a mATX PC for #2 and #4 and come out $500+ ahead? This doesn't even keep in mind that that system is ridiculous overkill, will have horrific battery life (you won't be taking it anywhere if you can't find a power outlet), and good luck sitting in bed with that monolith, maybe you could use it as a space heater.

Carbon's just trying to save you money and get "more bang for your buck".

A netbook costing $300 will solve Reasons #1 & #3

And a mATX PC costing upward of $500 for the other two Reasons.

And that's half your previous budget, so you could just spend more on a the mATX if you want to spend all the cash.

Read this article, it pretty much addresses your problem even if it is coming from a slightly different angle.

It also talks about gaming laptops:
