not the most usual question, but im packing for mallorca now

going to carry my laptop in my backpack, shove it up in the over heads.

two questions....

1) will my laptop be buggered by the xray scanners they have

2) is there any rules about carrying such electronic equipment, im sure if its turned off in the overhead there shouldn't be, just would rather know now than there. plus i don't want to put my laptop in my suitcase, need i explain why

p.s im going to study geomorphology out there so its not really a question of not taking it
