So i just ordered this thing and it got here very fast so I've decided to do a little review on it :P Contribute to the forums a lil'.

Shipping:

I ordered my m15x not long ago and after reading horror stories of months of shipping time i was shocked to see mine arrive so shortly after ordering.

When it came here i of course, were jumping with delight
Just seeing that massive lorry pull up and the worker step out and pull out an box with the alienware logo on made me drool.

After opening the box, going through 5 tonnes of bubble wrap and paper i finally got to a little black box, i quickly opened it and dropped the laptop

End of story

So i sent it back for repairs, when i dropped it onto my hardwood floor my heart just sank into my chest, i was to scared to look inside after i heard the crack.

Lets just say.. the keyboard had barely any keys, the screen was cracked through the middle and i could see the graphics card just staring at me through the gap in the corner of the touch pad.

Luckily they thought it was a shipping problem and i am now eagerly awaiting another couple of weeks for it to come back.
Hopefully i will be more careful this time.

I really should, but about 2 hours later i was joking about it :P
When i turned it on just to "test" i heard the fans come on, a low pitched crackling then a small spark came from the headphone jack and it switched off.

No idea how that happened xD

Also!! Here comes the best thing, i was on the phone about 10 minutes after i wrote it, they rung back and told me i will get a free
carry bag and a hat! All because they thought it was there fault.

No more will i suffer bad hats!
THE HAT HAS MESHES TO KEEP YOUR HEAD COOL!

Wow. You dropped it once and all that stuff happened? We had a Toshiba A30 about 5 years ago (£1300 ex display - wow) which I dropped from about chest height something like a year after we got it. The power cord was plugged in at the time, and the pin inside the socket broke off, so it wouldn't charge, but it worked fine until the battery ran down. Couple of weeks ago I soldered a new power socket into it. Its good as new!! Apart from a crack in it on the back. But that doesn't matter. I use it for school work now.

some laptops are built much stronger than others, and Alienware laptops aren't built for strength, they are build for power, and quite ofternly, the two don't seem to happen together.
