They are $244 at GEEKS and I can vouch that they are well worth the money.

I bought 2 for my girls in pink. Webcam, wireless and great battery life. No overhead of XP so they run at a decent clip. Do not get the XP version they are too slow.

There was a laptop forum but it made sense to just put hardware in with hardware, laptop or desktop.

@ Geeks they are refurbished, that's why they are cheap.

I thought that manufacturers generally replace failed or failing compontents with a better component. With that being said I have found (maybe just luck) that all my purchases of refurbed items have been great!

This goes for the ASUS mini laps that I purchased from GEEKS.

Just my 2 cents.

a refurbished item doesn't always have something replaces, or atleast not everything that was fully at fault, some parts might be replaced, whilst others would just be repaired, and repaired parts are much more likely to fail again soon than new parts.

Most 'refurbished' items are actually just items that were DOA. They get sent back to the factory and are repaired as good as new, but the original purchaser just gets given a new laptop for time constraints.

Other refurbs are for instance open boxes, unwanted returns etc etc etc. I would say that a refurb was no more likely to actually fail than a brand new one - except you may not have the original warranty.
