It's in my price range right now, so I really need to know, should I just jump for it? I need a new laptop and I don't think I'll come across a bargain like this again any time soon.
Sadly doesn't look like it has s-video out, but I can live without it.

The spec is solid. Acer's lappy screen's tend to be decent.

Low end price-range though tend's to have rather questionable chassis quality in my opinion.

What's the price?

Seems a good spec, agreed with alex, deciding vote is in the look/feel and price.

Default Buy the Acer Aspire 5920?

Well, the original price is something like 650 pounds, but it's reduced at play. A lot closer to my price range now. I don't really know much about the price ranges, but to me 650 would be a shit load of cash, but I'm a student, so that could be the reason.
I'd go for the 5920G just for the better graphics card if it wasn't for the 500 pounds price tag... and the useless HDDVD drive.

As for look, generally looks like this:

And plenty more images here. Judging by page 4 it's the 5920g, but the models look pretty much identical.
I'm heading into shops tomorrow where they will hopefully have an Acer Aspire so I can feel it up, so to say, but it looks alright to me.

So for some reason I cannot edit my posts, so I'll just put it here.
I may be getting this temporary job that can shortly boost my cash which could possibly allow me to buy the 5920G, if so should I go for it?

For £380 definately.

Dell get close with their Inspiron 1525 (and warranty) but it's £20 extra and the spec is slightly lower overall.

Couldn't beat that price for any new laptop in that spec.

Yeah, go for it. And if you're lucky, they might just chuck the Veyron in....

If they'd through in the Veyron I'd buy a more expensive model.

SocialWarfare: That's good to hear since I'm hoping it'll be able to do Spore even if only on the lowest settings.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I ended up going for this one instead.
It's a hundred quid more, but it has a great dedicated graphics card.... the useless HD-DVD drive couldn't stop me! Now to figure out if I can get more ram for it.
