Default Can anyone help (laptop problems)

Hi all don’t know if this is the right thread to post my problem but here goes any ways.

I had previously installed a game on to my PC (Star wars Knights of the old republic 2) and it worked fine.

I then tried to install it on to my laptop, my laptop should be able to play the game but that’s not the problem.

When I tried to install the game (4 disks) my laptop recognized the first disk, I then started to install the game when it asked of the second disk this is where the problem started!! My DVD drive would not recognize the second disk, when I tried to open the disk it said error with I/O devise (but it recognized the first disk)??????

Steps I tried to fix the problem, first put in a different disk (disk 3 of the game) but my DVD drive still did not recognizes the disk.

I then tried disk 1, my DVD drive recognized it, I then looked online for more up to date drives for my DVD drive (there was none)

I then uninstalled the DVD drive and let windows re-install it but again the same problems happened.

So can anyone help me out?

Sean

No the disk are fine (I think), it was the other day I installed them on to my PC.

When I get home I well try to re-install them on to my PC to see if there is a problem with the disks

I had the same thing with same game a couple of years back installing it for my brother, turned out one of the disks contained the correct game, one MOTO GP '06, one a Bob the Builder game, and one something else, but they all had the correct print on them.

Thanks for your post, see the only thing is i have installed the game all ready using the 4 disks but on a PC.

So all the data must be there, it's not that the data is not there it's that my laptop DVD drive will not recognizes the second, third or the forth and when i try to open the disk it come up with an error in the I/O device.

Does any one know what could be wrong???

Yes i re-tried disk 1 and it recognized the disk.

I am going to re-install it on my PC to see if it works.
